It is essential that you visit the Gibraltar registry office at least 24 hours prior to your wedding day in order to complete final formalities & paperwork in person. Both the bride & groom must be in attendance. If you have booked a wedding package through us, our local wedding representative will have already set up the commissioner meeting for you and will accompany you to the registry office. This step is necessary whether you have opted for a civil or a religious marriage ceremony.
We, therefore, recommend that you spend a minimum of three nights in Gibraltar with the first day being the day of your arrival into Gibraltar; the second day for completion of legalities, formalities and any last-minute arrangements and the third day for your marriage to take place. Of course, many couples choose to stay longer to enjoy what Gibraltar has to offer, to unwind and to incorporate a honeymoon. For those coming in from Spain and not wishing to stay in Gibraltar, you will need to make a day trip to finalise formalities at any time within three months prior to your marriage.
