What's Your Reaction?

itsgettinghotinhere.org:

NGOs and civil society groupings are reacting with anger and disappointment to a joint appeal by France and "Ethiopia, representing Africa" for a so-called 'Copenhagen Accord' to result from the current COP15 negotiations being held in the Danish capital. The French / Ethiopian proposal appeared on the French Presidency's website today.

Things are awfully quiet among the warm-mongers today. And, HP is recycling articles, like this one, from a couple days ago...

What happened?

Maybe it's finally time to say good bye to Copenhagen, and move on to the next big over-hyped eco-scare.

Sarkozy denies corruption claims
(UKPA) – 3 hours ago

French President Nicolas Sarkozy's office has forcefully denied allegations that he was aware of an alleged system of kickbacks related to a defence deal between France and Pakistan in the 1990s.

Sarkozy's office called the claim "defamation" and pointed out that he had the right to file a legal complaint against the lawyer who made it.

The charges have their roots in a 2002 car bombing in Karachi, Pakistan, that killed 14 people, 11 of them French employees of a naval construction firm who were helping build a submarine for the Pakistani navy.

French investigators long suspected al-Qaida-linked terrorists were behind the attack. But two investigative judges have been probing whether it may have stemmed from a dispute over alleged bribes connected to the French sale of three Agosta attack submarines to Pakistan.

This title is completely overblown. The article has no real basis for suggesting that Obama is pressuring African nations to sign the specific agreement. He merely acknowledged and applauded France's initiative in trying to draft an agreement with them.

remove your cover, advocacyforethiopia.og is an opposition party website with NO credibility and you represent a few hundred people among 80 million of us. America will NOT go to war for interest groups to solve your political problems. America has representatives in Ethiopia to see what's going on the ground. You think you can influence policy by sitting in your living room with full stomach. If you have balls, you fight for your cause with integrity. Al Mariam is a little hate monger. You can worship him but he is an empty drum for majority of us. You can post his articles all day long - what matters is on the ground on our own soil. EPRDF didn't defeat derg by talking all day long on Washington DC streets. You will see that there won't be much attention given to your hidden agenda. It's sad that 35 disgruntled habeshas are trying to throw mud at their own country and Prime Minister. It will never work. Ethiopians are far more wiser than the disconnected few diaspora.

The Slave trade in Africa went on for as long as it did, partly, because of collaborators -- the likes of Zenawi of Ethiopia. As for President Obama, Africans would wish that they had George Bush – the best POTUS friend they ever had.

Africans should understand that Mr. Obama is the POTUS, and would drop bombs even on Kenya if it is in American interest. His appeasement of the Sudanese government amounts to taking side against Africa.

President Obama is no son, uncle or brother of Africa; and the earlier Africans realize this, the better for them. They should pray -- as they are wont of doing -- that Americans elects an African-friendly President at the next presidential election, and not one who abuses their hospitality; exploit them; and talks down at them, using his African ancestry for cover.
