Once Spoken in : Italy
Language Code : umc (Former code: UMC )
Status : Extinct
Family : Indo-European

Brief Description : An ancient language of the Central Adriatic coast of Italy. Probably a member of the Oscan group within Sabellic. Only one substantial text, found on a bronze tablet from Rapinum, exists. It is very difficult to interpret, and since the tablet itself seems to have been lost during the Second World War, it cannot be further examined. The tablet seems to have dated to the mid 3rd century BC.
