| The Keith Pavitt Library provides a gateway to specialist resources on policy research on science, technology and innovation. In 2003 SPRU co-located to the Freeman Centre with CENTRIM, and the library became the first merged service for the two institutions. ResourcesOur print resources of some 40,000 items and a core collection of journal titles reflect the research concerns of SPRU for over 40 years, and more recently of CENTRIM. The collection is focussed and comprehensive, covering subjects including:
Our catalogue to this material is a unique bibliographic database on the subject, and includes SPRU publications, theses, and selectively indexed journal articles. Electronic resources and search tools include statistical, patent and news databases, and e-journals. (Access for SPRU members only). |
OPENING HOURS The Library is closed on public holidays and on other days when the University is closed. The photocopiers are accessible at all times.

ServicesWe provide professional information services in support of SPRU and CENTRIM's research, learning, teaching, and outreach activities. Membership is extended to the academic staff and post-graduate students of the Universities of Sussex (including the Institute of Development Studies) and Brighton. We offer external membership to UK-based individuals and organisations, and visitors can arrange to use the library for reference purposes. Undergraduates are advised to approach the main University Libraries with enquiries relating to all reading list material Borrowing entitlements for SPRU Masters, and Research and Visiting students are explained on our intranet (access for SPRU members only). We supply interlibrary loans to non-members via the British Library service, and photocopies of information and articles by post of fax (within copyright guidelines). Please contact the library staff for the scale of changes for this service. SPRU imprint publications can be purchased from the Library. Course materials - We provide support for SPRU postgraduate teaching programmes, complementing the University Library provision with additional resources such as our Short Loan Collection, intranet-based reading lists and course materials, and access to electronic resources (SPRU members only). |
