History of the Catholic Church in Wyoming
     The Diocese of Cheyenne encompasses the entire state of Wyoming.  It was formed, from the Diocese of Omaha (Nebraska), on 9 August 1887.  The Diocese of Omaha had been only recently formed, in 1885, from the Vicariate Apostolic of Nebraska.
