Programix dev blog 2.7.2009 - Some WIP screenshots

Wow, it was a realy long time since I posted something new here on my site! So, here are some very work-in-progress screenshots as prove that I still develop Legend of Beneshov. Most of changes aren't visible though, I mostly improved and added new functions to the engine. As you can see, graphics are new, (almost) no placeholders anymore, these are almost all original or from sources which are free to use. The menu on bottom screen is also all redone in a very better and practical way. I hope I will post some new screenshots of battle system as well when I will finish some parts. The menu in battles on lower screen has been rebuilt too.

9.1.2009 - The Legend of Beneshov project is not dead!

I wasn't developing the game very much for some time, but the project is not that as it might look! I'm going to rewrite most of the engine and battle system, mostly the user interface. I'm also going to implement lua scripts to the whole game. Lua scripts are dynamicly loaded from file system so there is no more limit of 4MB DS's memory to scripts of magic spells, items, monsters and so on. Theoreticaly, only limit is actual size of memory cards :-). I have also done some music for the game, and fixed (almost) all problems with MP3 playback. I hope I will post a new demo soon.

4.9.2008 - Another demo of Legend of Beneshov

This is new demo of my RPG game Legend of Beneshov. I also sent this demo to Neo Flash Summer Coding Compo. I don't think I could win at all, but I hope the game will gain some publicity :-). Current demo contains also preview of the battle system (similar to Final Fantasy), one village and some random encounters on the world map. There is still very much unorignal graphics ripped from FF games.

18.6.2008 - Loading Lua scripts from FAT

Here is example of loading Lua scripts from the memory card. Big credits to Maple because he made the Lua work on DS, I just edited his code to run the scripts from FAT ;). You can use Lua as scripting engine for your game, or for saving confingurations, you can even change the Lua scripts on the fly!

15.5.2008 - Alpha demo of Legend of Beneshov

This is the first alpha demo of Legend of Beneshov. It yet only an alpha demo so many things are not working yet (battle system) or are not working properly. For running you must copy the folder "lob" to root of your card and DLDI patch the ROM with proper DLDI driver (if your flashcard doesn't it itself). Hope, battle system will be in next demo becouse it's yet too unstable and buggy.

22.3.2008 - Legend of Beneshov - WIP screens

So, developing of Legend of Beneshov is going just fine! Here are some screenshots of it how is developing going :). All graphics are original, only characters on the map and characters and background in battle are ripped from some SNES Final Fantasies. We plan to repleace all unoriginal graphics with an (better ^^) original one. I hope I will make a demo of it how will game work in at least one month. 22.1.2008 - X-Mas Gifts in Drunkencoder's compo

Thus, my game X-Mas Gifts placed in Drunkencoder's Christmas Compo 12nd out of total 23 entries. It's not bad, is :D? But I congratule to all winers and I have to say, their games were better ;)

29.12.2007 - X-Mas Gifts

In the game you ride past windows of houses and throw gifts into peoples windows. It's very easy ^_^! In the game you must drag a gift on lower screen and throw it to one of windows on upper screen. For controling you can use a motion senor and in this case you throw a gift by moving the DS forward and to the left or to the right. For every correct hit you get 10 points and if gift doesn't touch the window frame you get 22 points. There are also extra points for combos, row of successfull hits. In the game are two modes. In one case you just have to obtain a highscore in two minutes or a level based mode where you have a certain required score to achieve in 25 seconds in order to get to the next higher level where you have to reach a little higher required score in order to get to the next higher level and so on. Don't forget to DLDI patch the ROM becouse your highscores will be saved to the memory card. I have signed the game up to Drunkencoders' Christmas Coding Compo (www.drunkencoders.com) and the results should be published sometime around 4. January 2008 so I will post here what I get ^_^.
