With the Democratic presidential nomination far from decided, the candidates were jockeying a little bit recently, talking about a “dream ticket.”

Hillary Clinton said she’d consider naming Barack Obama as her vice-president when she gets the nomination, but she’s nowhere near a shoo-in. For his part, Obama said he’s just focused on winning the nomination, although at least one member of his team said Clinton would make a good vice-president. (I know Hillary and I think she’d make a great president or vice-president.)

It’s interesting to see what the candidates are doing. They’re playing the same kind of power games that you see in any kind of business environment.

Sometimes if you project a powerful attitude then the people around you can’t help but pick up on it too. It’s great positioning and it often works.

It’ll be interesting to see, however, if it works in the political arena. A lot of people think a Clinton/Obama or Obama/Clinton pairing would be a dream pairing for the November election. But for that to happen, one of them has to willingly agree to be Number Two.

Until then, keep an eye on all the power games and maneuvering. It will reveal a lot about who might one day sit in the Oval Office.

Why they fight so hard to be the one ? for the people ? (thats bull****s) or for them self ? how much money they owed for the power ?

in the end the winner is he/she who can deliver the highest comfort in the shortest time. (nobody care for the long term) that was the weakest point of democracy. (people know what they want, but they don't know what they need)

If I need to vote, I'll chose Michael Bloomberg as the President. Clinton & Obama ? I don't trust them

In terms of pure entertainment value a Clinton/Obama ticket would be dreamier. Come on, Bill back in the White House would be a dream-come-true for the Media.

The trouble I have with Obama is that he comes across as too soft-- a push-over. Just like the NYSE celebrating last Tuesday over the news of Governor Spitzer, the scoundrel world leaders will be firing their AK-47s in the air on Election Night if Obama got the presidency. Clinton on the other hand understands corruption. Cunningness and **** come from the same root word: cunn (which means "to know"). Let's look at reality. To see the lies perpetuated by those holding on to their power takes someone with a knowing of corruption. Hillary has transcended corruption and is in a position to trump the players and world leaders without resorting to violence as President Bush has.

No matter who Hillary Clinton chooses as her Vice President, make no mistake that the real ticket will be Hillary/Bill.

Now, THAT'S the dream ticket!

Vote REPUBLICAN!
Senator John McCain and Giulliani for Vice-President....speaking of experience in National Security and Capitalism.
Obama is a pie in the sky preacher and Hilary is a 'shadow of a doubt'.

I know Hillary too, and no, I don't care for the fantasy Clinton/Obama ticket. :)
Interesting blog post, though.

The only great team for president would be Paul for president and Richarson for vice President. Lets be realistic , they make the most sense. Even vise versa would be great!

"THE" Dream ticket that would lock up the nomination for Hillary would be if she hinted or outright announced that Al Gore would be her Vice Presidential candidate. Al Gore has tremendous respect across the globe and would have all the resources necessary to fight 2 of the American peoples greatest ecological concerns. 1) Global warmimg & 2) The safety of our drinking water from Pharmaceutical pollutants. It would be a wonderful legacy for him. But also he could set in motion a run at the Oval office himself at the end of Hillary's 8 year run.The experience level of a Hillary/Gore ticket would be thru the roof.

If Hillary/Al Gore was in fact going to be her Democratic ticket, believe me Obama's campaign would immediately collapse. And Senator McCain? Well lets just say that would be a ticket that he could not possibly overcome.

I have to say William Yang has a good point, highest comfort in the shortest time. Do the math. Obama lost my trust also during his campaign. To be sure I am not qualified to vote in the United States, however I feel the consequences with each form of politics the United States adopts.

Obama turned on Canada this week, and with obscured reporting I am still not clear why he has decided Canada is a problem. It is in this action I do not trust Obama and have quit any admiration I have had for the man.

I am not angry with him, however I would say he is building castles out of sand at this point.

While I think the dream ticket would be great for the audience, being vice president might not be such a good deal for either of the players. If Obama won and stayed two terms, Hillary would be 61 before she had a chance to run again. Age works against women in popular opinion. If she did not become vice president, she could stay as a powerful senator in the forefront of public opinion or become governor of New York. If Hillary won the nomination, think that she at least has to ask Obama to be her running mate. There have been a lot of allegations of racism against her camp- so she has to ask him. It might not be all that good for Obama to accept the nomination. No one who wants to be president, should be vice-president under Hillary because anyone serving under Hillary would have to take a back seat to Bill. And Obama also has the choice of a senate or gubernatorial role.

Of the last 10 vice presidents (since 1961), 3 have become president- 2 by succession (Johnson and Agnew)- and one by election while a sitting vice-president (Bush Sr.). In all of American history, only 30% of the vice-presidents have ever become presidents. Two-thirds of those became president by succession. So- if you want to be elected President, it's not a good idea to become vice-president.

To be elected president, it's not the popular vote that counts- it's the electoral vote. Can't see either candidate losing in blue states or winning in red states- so it might be better to pick a running mate that will help carry electoral votes in a big swing state. In yesterday's Washington Post, George Will postulated that Ohio's governor would be a good choice. Have to also admit that some of my comments today were heavily influenced by David Broder's column in yesterday's Washington Post.

As for me- I'm for Hillary. It's not that she is a woman- but that feels great to me- but it is because she wants the kind of change in America that I've wanted to see my entire adult life.

As for the fact that she is a woman, that is great also. When I was growing up, I was told that a woman could be a wife, teacher, a secretary, or a nurse. When I was little (or for some not so little) I wanted to be a Catholic priest, a professor, the President, a Hollywood star or a doctor. My Mom always told me reach for the stars, you can only fall down- but when I wanted to reach for one of these roles- my Mom got hysterical. Now women can be professors, senators, doctors, and Episcopal priests- and still be a wife and mother. It will be great when we see another glass ceiling fall- when it will be considered not only admirable but possible for a little girl to want to become president.

To change and lead the nation. They must be in sink and be in alliance.

We dont think they are ready to give in on issues. There is a huge difference of toying with the press and reality. To be independent and stand alone. Not just choosing a V.P. but working cabinet members.

I think it is fantastic that we have such captivating and moving candidates this time. It's a great time in American politics. The candidates are really into the race and seem dedicated and sincere. I don't remember ever being quite this interested in a Presidential race. It has always seemed that in the past, the candidates were just going through the motions, not really speaking with a genuine message... just talking heads. Honestly, nobody could have been paying attention until the last minute in '04... John Kerry and "W"... BORING! It was difficult to listen to the same old tired rhetoric. It's different this time...it's really wonderful! Everyone is paying attention!

There is such an interest...finally...by the People, in what is taking place in the race. Everyone is ready for a president who is actually in it to serve the nation, not to be served by the nation. We won't stand for it... Democrats or Republicans! If this doesn't work out, I think that there might be a military coup, or, another revolution.

I really respect Hillary's tenacity and intelligence. I think she would not get lazy if elected. She wants to show these idiots how it's done. The same can be said for Barack. Sen. Obama is just so genuine and even tempered. He has much humility, but he doesn't take any crap from anyone. He's certainly not a push-over...but, rather a push-er! He gets things done! He understands and empathizes with all types. He gets it! He knows where everyone is coming from. He doesn't have advisors to explain people to him.

On the Republican side, I do admire McCain. I love that he wants to get rid of the pork-belly spending in Washington. I know that they all "say" that... but, he knows that he must keep his word. We're not messing around anymore. These politicians are finally being held accountable for their actions. People are talking about a McCain/Giuliani ticket. You would support that one, wouldn't you, Mr. Trump? Oh, McCain's stance on Iraq... yeah... a 100 more years. That could hurt him.

It will be exciting to see who the Democratic nominee is, and the running mate chosen! Either way, I have to say... it's going to be good! Very exciting!

In Chicago they encourage to "vote early and vote often", this is the political arena that raised Obama, and he has clearly risen to the top like cream in this system of management. Hillary is a remarkable woman, whom I admire deeply, as a woman I could do nothing but admire her for trying to be the President in a man’s world. Put them together, and it is indeed a hard ticket to beat, two minorities who have really done a fantastic job thus far marketing the voice of the oppressed in our country. How will they work as a team? Well they will if they must, and that will in the end be up to the party, not either of them. Frankly they need either Bill Gates of Donald Trump for Vice if they have any hope of turning the nation around after they pull out of Iraq, a war our economy is very interdependent upon. How they think they are going to manage that is frankly beyond me, but should they get in the office either one of them I know they will need a lot of help. I am not impressed with the personal attacks either of them has engaged upon against Senator McCain. He is a man who has served this nation for over 30 years and that deserves some respect, much more than either of them have shown. I am naturally inclined towards the Democratic Party on many issues, but this race scares me. The issues regarding National Security really require special training, and someone who has been "in the loop" and can keep us out of the mouth of the lion. I fear that showing my Democratic side this election is just not timely, perhaps McCain should invite one of them to cross over the party line and be his Vice- now that would show us all that we can come together when we must and that our leaders can hear what we are saying.
I agree that we must accept that it will be a Hillary/Bill no matter what. But that won’t be so bad, it will just sell a lot of papers, and media. I give Hillary a lot of credit for trying to overcome his misdeeds, it gives so many women permission to attempt the same in the face of whatever their lunatic spouses or former lovers have been involved in. But maybe we are just making too much of a blow job anyway. It is a very stressful job, and I think most men with high stress jobs get blowjobs often; the problem is he got caught doing it with some intern. I just hate the fact that none of us care more about cyber crime and identity theft and related research.
It makes me ill to see how the candidates are using the Internet to slander McCain and take tid bits of things he has said and turn it into massive productions that make him look bad. I think that is just outdated politics, and frankly it is more than half the reason why younger people get sick and tired of politics. The younger more educated populations really have NO OPINION on politics anymore. Those who do, have no idea why, they just have a passed down opinion- it was not generated from an original experience. All my opinions on politics are based on actual experience with the Republican Party who I would like to blame on my troubles. But, in reality what happens to real people as a result of policy does have the chance of molding our thoughts and ideas about politics. My experience has taught me that politics is a business, and it is most like the business of a circus. Politics is a circus, and when we stop wanting to be entertained and demand that the three ring circus stop, then and only then will it even matter who the Democrats choose as a Vice President.
McCain 2008 it is the smart choice- like it or not he is the best qualified to deal with the state of the Nation. Regardless of your political bend I hope you will do the right thing for the Nation and put McCain in office- maybe one of the Democrates can cross party lines and ask to be his Vice!
As Trump says, we need to get out of our comfort zone, "think outside the box" that would do it!
Warm regards to all the canidates, please take extra good care of self.

I don't know if I once knew and had forgotten, or if I never knew until recently that New York was the first capitol of the United States of America. I look at the projections for buildings planned at Ground Zero and am disappointed and dismayed over the lack of ingenuity and creativity that should be the hallmarks of our country.

Can someone please tell Larry Silverstein that we do not need a collection of inconspicuous buildings at that location. What WE need is to relocate the capitol of the United States of America back to New York City!

Yes, I say build a new capitol - a 50 sided building at Ground Zero, large enough to be seen from outer space. Let the people of the United States join together and start our government over from the ground up. Yes, the expertise of Barack, Hillary, and John are all needed to guide our new government away from the tired and destructive path we have so long travelled.

Does anyone think that any one person could possibly hold the expertise for the complicated decisions that need to be made in our society today? I have heard genius remarks from several of the candidates during the debates and we ought not to loose any of their creative ideas. This idea of the republicans and democrats trampling upon each other groaping to get to the top has got to stop. We are better than that.

The Race for Vice-President is just as important as the choice for President.

In Connecticut, the governor was found guilty of corrupt behavior and the LT
Governor, Jody Rell was sworn in as the new Governor. She represents only
one state making up the United States of America.

Recently in New York, the Governor resigned from office due to scandal.
The LT Governor was his replacement. When the good people of New York
voted, they really voted for both men. Many may not have thought the 2nd in
command would ever be the Governor.

Our President and Vice-President not only represent the country, but our
global interests and image.

If Hillary and Obama are acting like "circus clowns" to raise media attention
and entertain the public they have succeeded.

If Senator McCain believes war can create stability and balance the global
economy perhaps he will get the chance to show us how.

The Independents don't seem to have much of an influence on the American
registered voters. So it's hard to say what their "change" might be.

Every consideration that is given to selecting "the best person for such an
awesome responsibility" as Leader of the Free World should also be given
to selecting a person who may be called upon to "walk in the Leaders shoes."

Somehow, I don't think Obama would look or feel comfortable wearing high-heels
in public. And I wouldn't want to see Hillary wearing a Trump suit and tie.

I don't understand why a candidate running for Vice-President isn't brought into
the election process sooner. America deserves the BEST LEADERSHIP. How
can voters make an informed decision when half of the team is unannounced?

I hope whoever is elected for Vice-President is voted for
his/her ability to govern our nation based upon wisdom,
diplomacy, and fairness to ALL citizens, not just the
contributors to either parties campaign.

Also, what does their sex life (if any) have to do with their
ability to govern wisely? There are alot of duds in the
bedroom that use their brain in the boardroom.

Sex should not be confused with politics, even though
both are usually done behind closed doors.

Interesting. I take it you are a Democrat. I think one of my favorite courses was Political Psychology. I found the study of power absolutely fascinating. I think it should be a required course for anyone involved in marketing, because it is actually the positioning of people - human packages. It can also apply to businesses and organizations. I wouldn't want to be in politics though, I prefer to work behind the scenes. You can have that spotlight. You shine!
