Music Ka Maha Muqabla on Star Plus

Conceptualized and produced by Gajendra Singh of Sai Baba Teleflims, Music Ka Maha Muqabla promises to be a path breaking show which comprises of best singing talent who are ready to out wit each other on Star Plus.
It will be a 13 weeks journey which will showcase intense rivalry between teams captained by popular singers namely, Himesh Reshammiya, Mika Singh, Mohit Chauhan, Shaan and Shankar Madadevan.
The power packed contestants includes Abwesga Datta, Devojit, HArshit Saxena, Vedalal Hemachandra, Ravi Shukla, Toshi, Sarib Sabri, Aishwarya Majumdar, himani Kapoor, Lakhwinder Wadali, Swapnil Bandorkar, Vineet Singh, Amey Date, Raja hassan and Neeti.
Completing the team, will be three singers from popular list of above. They along with their captains will be adding another member to their group by auditioning their respective cities too.
So get ready for maha competition on Star Plus this December.

you all have cheated shan strikers.because before last performence,his total was 81 and himesh team was at 78.after last perform shan was at 122 and himesh got 43 points from public,thus his total becomes 121 while you have shown it 123.5,how was it possible.will you plz verify it?otherwise you will be called a cheater……

Its very biassed and looks like all of them have one agenda of putting Mohit’s team down. Singers please grow big and set an example by being fair in your judgment. Do remember you have come there because everybody was fair towards you.

but this show of yours is the worth show i ever seen in my life.
1) Y? the hoest needs 2 shout all the time wihle hoesting the show and
2) is i can’t belive that all the singers are trained by geart singer and when they get on stage the say so bad and awful and it like they are shouting on stage

actuly i wanted to say that.. mumbai not doing justice with mika singh in music ka maha muqaabla. mika didnt meant to go out.. because he is very talented and he has a good team aswell. but mumbai audience is Unjustified. they cant chose whose a better singer. they gave him less points because he sang SIKH songs.

Hi Amey… I was not disappointed the way other singer reacted to judges. Our culture won’t allow to make scene which you created. I don’t want to discuss who is at the wrong side because we all know who creates controversies and is bias. I was not expecting you to get involved and put yourself in that list. It was rather shocking the way you extended for bad level. I like to see you as role model for youth but Sunday drama really shattered your image. I hope you manage to overcome and sing more delightfully. Himesh need to be very practical. He creates nonsense in each and every show at competitive level.

To all respected upcoming singers. Mukesh, Rafi, Manna Dey, Suresh Wadkar and Sonu nigam all of them are known because of pure talent. You people should not consider yourself over smart. Rahul and Shakib are very disappointing at behaviour especially they are with Shankar Mahadevan’s team. Learn some discipline and follow it. You still need to go long way.

Since I have been a big fan of your music shows, I hope you read this.
Its a great show but its also bringing some disgrace in our drawing (living) room with cheap comments from cheap judges. The inexperienced contestants may raise their voices against some injustice, but it needs to be handled with grace.
Please bring some grace to the show, by controlling the monkeys, you have good singers and good judges. Just control the bad monkeys.
Drama does not always bring TRP.

Can somebody please tell Himesh to at least look interested instead of staring into space when other teams are performing. He is arrogant, rude and not a good singer. Better yet, please get him off the show! “Us ko bolo, apna chera zara TV pe dekhna” Sach me dekhne wala lagta hai jaise thapad maar kar bithaya hai!

Please ask Judges to keep - POLITICS out of the completion, is already more than enough in country. And Also Judge everyone by keeping themself is s/he’s shoe. I guess Himesh and Mika is not trying to do this.

Hi, I am from the UK and watch this show each week. I’m deeply disappointed at the organisers of this show as they have selected very biased judges who cause friction and controversy. Himesh is an unfair judge who should be evicted from the show. His behaviour, attitude and rudeness creates tension between the teams and it is simply not nice to see. The performances should be judged on singing ability and hence talent.
The incident with Himesh and ameya was disgraceful and should not be repeated.

i am us and i watch this show every weekend and i hate to miss it but himesh is spoiling this show with his so called attitude………personality comes before talent, so himesh better be a good person and good judge. he should have been nice to Amaya, my fav. his great voice……..he could sing better than himesh…

Hi, I am from the Pakistan and watch this show each week. I’m deeply disappointed at the organisers of this show as they have selected Mika and Himesh who are very biased judges and cause friction and controversy. Himesh is an unfair judge who should be evicted from the show. His behaviour, attitude and rudeness creates tension between the teams and it is simply not nice to see. The performances should be judged on singing ability and hence talent. Shanker, Sheriya,Mohit,Shan are nice judges. Himesh must be replaced by Abhijeet or some better singer/judge. One should keep in mind in future not to nominate Himesh as judge as it destroy the environments of the programme.

The singer -shreya, vinit, avas obviously shankar are excillent. But are these shows for listening of music or seeing and dancing? that is a big question .
Not a single classical songs is being composed in recent years by all those so called music composer . only delivering -speech ( eg Himesh) and copying the europian and american style .I feel indian raga music has its originality but these composer spoil the same by the course of time,

This is one of the best musical programme of 2010…I liked the performance of 7th feb.2010 where in Shaan’s Striker Rock the Stage with their team..Specially Anvesha, She is so much in control of her voice and swaras. Shankar Team also did performed well.
Shaan Ki Kaya baat hai..old song which is so sweet till date to hear..Late Rafi Shaeb ki awaz ka Jadu Abhi bhi bolta hai..

It is a great show.fFirst of all no one shows interest in music other than me.But after seeing this show my all family members started liking it. I like singing of shankar ji very much.He is god for me.he is my idol.

I was so impressed with Shaan’s performance on Feb 14, 2010, when he sang in Honour of his Father. This song brought tears to my eyes as I too have just lost my Father recently.
Does anyone know how I can get a copy of that song or where I can find it? or an email for Shaan, I would greatly appreciate it.

I didn’t want Mohit’s fighters to lose b/c I loved watching amey o well it’s a game and things happen. But I don’t like those to twin brothers. They are always arguing. I just feel like pulling their hair and drag them both and toss em into trash can b/c that’s where they belong. It was injustice on the part of Mr.Shaan in the episode of 21st feb, 2010. As it was a duet round, no one can disregard the mistake of the participants. Mr. Shaan was right and being a talented singer Mr. Shankar Mahadevan should know the difference between duet and solo singing. Even the judges should not be partial as rules are rules.

I am truly agasht at the judges. come of India you can do better. shankar had to hog the stage and contest against a kid. Is it a show for judges or for upcoming singers. shaan was right when the girl forgot her lines that was a blunder if you are only judging performance then why have singing. shankar should be ashamed of himself singing all the songs could the judges give him anything less than 10 esp. shirya who says he is her ustaad. what is the competition of the judges o

I want to say about last night performance, where shankar ji won.
Where I found only 1 team that’s SHAAN’s team, SHANKAR ji was having his courus only. A singer & composer of his stature can not come to the floor for twice, it can be under what ever situation.
And in a very strategically when Shankar ji saw that anwesha sung the dj round excellently he came into play.
Rahul and everybody are very efficient singers, but I think SHANKAR ji did not have faith on his team that is why he came for so many time. And he was right Rahul & his partner fotgot the line but still the judges given them 9 marks. I found it injustice, because if it is a duel performer the marks sould be 5 each, for rahul you can give 7 but not 9. at the end I would like to say in this competion I want SHAAN’s or SHANKAR ji’s team to win, but I was very disappointed about the attitude shown by SHANKAR ji.Sorry sir, from Noe I will only support SHAAN’s striker.

Hiii i like shankar mahadevan but last night shankar did very injustice with shann’s striker his team(shankar’s) is Good but Last night Shankar Ji doing unfair with his tean and shan’s tem also shan is too good his team is good very fair team i would say b’coz shankar jii is two times against him but they are still smiling…. but when Rahul And Niti Sung And doing A mistake by Niti and Rahul covered up And Neti is not just sing 2 lines on stage but still Shankar and other judges are supporting it’s ridicules yarr this the Duet Performance and u r Famel Singer not sing 2 singel line and give them 9 or 10 points it’s shameful to all judges specially Mikaaa “Dada” i don’t emagine that himesh also support them b’coz if he is in the same situation like shann as so he creating big issue more that shann did but he is not thare at that time .. and i am not expected from shreya also leve it… all them i also don’t expect from shhankar jii he is a king of singing and he coverd up his mistake i surprise i think he comes first and clear it all mistake… i did’t expect from shakar jiii.. and before this song when harshit and Rahul singing a jugalbandhi round than harshit doing a mistake in some mukhda and judges cut his point and gave him just 7 pt but when same thing not same but more than that in duet performance they gave them 9pt and after that when Debojit and anvesha sang tremendous song but that judges give them 8 how’s that man???? i don’t understand….. shan’s geart loyal person i like him very mutch……. you(shan) deserve to be win…… but in my point of view u r the winner (shan’s striker)….

Yesterday the way Shankar behaved is wrong, he is a senior singer at least he should have admitted the mistake done by his team members. One more thing is Mika giving 10/10. Very immature and irrewsponsibile act, that is we can expect from him. After first round Mohit and Mika are not to be part of judge team. I strongly feel Shaan was absolutely right. Sahnkar team should have got max 7/10 but he got 10 is ridiculous. I request judges if you does not know even audience can judge then you are all unfit to be part of that. Please behave professionally.

Shaan was absolutely right in the case of neeti forgot her lines in duet song. I think It is not only performance show it is a competition and participants are like competitior.I want to just ask that if a student in a exam or competition gives his/her answer of any question in beutiful writing with outstading attraction but the answer he writes is not true the teacher/mentor/examinor should give him full marks or zero marks

This is about the show telecast on 21st feb. Shaan strikers vs Shankar’s rockstars. What happened was totally unfair. That
1. Shankar had to come to the floor twice, thrice including the medley which was also dominated TOTALLY by him. No chance given to his team members.
2. Neeti forgetting her lines. I remember amul chote ustaad. When on one or two occasions little kids forgot their lines, the judges were very critical and the judges were appreciated because it would have been unfair to other little children if the ones who forgot their lines were not dealt with correctly.
Doesn’t the same hold good for the contestants of maha muqabla.
3. For shankar to actually contest against anwesha was the most pathetic thing. How is he encouraging a little girl who says is next in line after Shreya Goshal. Is it only lip service. He should have had faith in his team and sent one of them.
3. Rahul vaidya’s sartcastic reaction to the score of the audience - I dont think he has a right even to speak like that. Like Ayushman says Rahul is happy when th system works right for HIM otherwise he really is ………………..
4. Shaan is a perfect gentleman and his love for his team and the faith he has in them really shines thru. God bless. May he win….
5. Judges reactioon to rahul-neeti performance. very very very bad. Absolutely no scruples. Ask the singers themselves to change the lyrics of some great lyricists and let them face their wrath. They dara not……..

Shaan and Shankar are both great singers and I love their music. I am not sure how the team allocation works, but Shaan has a much better team with Debojit, Anvesha and Shadaab! Inspite of repeated poor performance, Shaan continues to encourage Harshit. I respect him for that, he’s the best leader on the show.
As for Rahul, his comments to the audience are his prerogative. I personally do not like his sarcastic comments. At the same time, I was floored by the way he handled the situation. It looked too good to be true and made me wonder whether it was staged!! The final winner at the end was the hidden star, Gajendra Singh (the producer).

I think Himesh should stop shouting and focus more on singing - he is always trying to shout and making noises about Hindustan and sounds so fake about his emotions - when he sings slow medleys, they don’t match and when he sings fast medleys he doesn’t mix them properly - she should have logically not been in the semis - Mika deserved to be there - at least he would have entertained us rather than only shouting around.

I love raja’s maturity he did not try to en cash on his sister’s death unlike heemash who unnecessary raised the subject to gain some mileage. Heemash also spoke about the hardship he faced. Now he has money what is he doing is for the poor singers like Rahman who has talent but no money. I do not know why these current singers have to talk about the hardships and but do no good for the poor singers. Bollywood praises Mumbai police but when it comes to performing for them once a year, they all disappear and some participate making it clear they are not paid. When it comes to award function they give their best, forgetting that it is the Mumbai police who is guarding them standing outside, not the CM sitting in front row. I have a lot of respect for cricketers who at least have played many beneficiary matches to give financial support to the retired cricketers and formed BCCI.
Don’t we have any one like lalit modi in Bollywood who can do some thing like IPL for the talent who lend their vocal chords to them? And form music ka BCCI.
If cricket is beyond caste, regional and quote politics music has a older history for being secular. Bismillah khan used to perform outside temple there are many such examples.
The entertainment fraternity knows what happened to Shailendra the famous lyricist who was also responsible for making Raj kapoors movie hit. But when he was suffering and died he did not have any money and the entire kapoor clan turned their face other side. …. People sing his song without remember him.
If Gandhiji would not have been shot and died in 2010 his last words would have been “Hey Ram yeh kya ho raha hai Hindustan mein yaha democracy nahein hypocrisy raj chal raha hai “

Hi I have watched episodes on feb 28th, sunday. The judges were very partial about the duet song sung by
shankar team, this is competition if you singer dont remember lyrics the point shoule be cut, it like comparing spelling competition, if
you can’t spell right you loose, similarly the duet song was modified and 80% sung by male singer Besides the audience keep in mind shanker did not use his
rest of the singers. this is competetion of group singer , if the leader sings most of the songs, it is not competition. The judge mika sinhg should be removed from the panel. for one thing his does not have any decency of how to say things in public. it is really shame on star tv part to have him as judge

We all here are great fan of this show.but while watching todays episode between shan and shankar we were really upset seeing shan hooted by honourable judges and shan had a honest point it was not a show but a real genuine competetion and any body taking part on stage and that too in semifinals has to be completely prepared and there is no let go in this.any show allover the world these mistakes are not tolerated and again in a duet 80 to 90% was sung by rahul which is also not fair and for all this judges were shouting and fighting with shan.we think they all dont deserve to be on those chairs.I think show orgainers have given a free hand to himesh to speak any thing he likes.one should be really deserving to speak all these.we had a very big group watching this show every week but today was the sadest day for this show.in our opinion if shankar is so great and honest he really lost this episode since he took the mike three times to gain maximum score which shan never did it.my hats off to shan for his honesty and our blessings always that he wins.i dont have his email id but i would appriciate if this msg reaches shan.thanks and may god bless.

Watching semi final music ka moha mukabela….I lost my respect to Sankar Mahadavon.I thought its a challenge between the other challenger not with the mentors.Sanker I think he was performing like student and getting points like “mentor”…

Dear Mr Shankar Mahadevan,
You are an excellent singer and music director. I also love Shreya and Shaan as well. I want all of you to take this competition sportingly. Allow other upcoming singers to sing rather than repeat yourself in the show several times.
Its no more a Mukabala…its a show of proven singers trying to prove themselves over and over again. We want to hear Harshit, Aunik, and other upcoming singers.
Mr Shankar, by singing twice, you have set the trend and now even Shreya and Shaan have to follow.Audiance is forced to give high marks. I understand that this is the loophole you found in the system…but try to avoid.
Mr Sahay (Producer/Director of the show)….pls keep this competition a fair playing field for every participants. No doubt that we are enjoying the show but allow all the participants to play their role…..OR otherwise ask them to come down and sit with the audiance till the MEDLEY starts.

Just saw the show,Shaan and Shreya singing twice and no one seems to be making noise about that, but if Shankar sings twice its made into a big deal. We all have favorites but at-least agree that you do and stop this nonsense about being just and honest.
And the duet sung by Shreya and Onik, it was not balanced, Onik was singing along with Shreya and he sung half a paragraph of the song and Mr Shaan was absolutely fine with it!
Neethi forgot her lines, accepted, but at the end of the day the show went on….there was no awkward pause or break, it was absolutely beautiful! I think thats why they got 9 points.

Now since the 3rd semis, it has been accepted as “ALLOWED” . We all know that its a loophole, used by Shankar, so now everyone will use it.Judges have no objection…..Mr Sahay has nothing to say on this ..no announcements were made…so it has been universally accepted.
DUET FROM THEN ONWARDS DOES NOT HAVE TO BE A DUET. You just need someoneone to FILLIN. !!

shame on star plus to have this show music ka mahamuquabla between shan and shankar to have a worst end like this.and again what a shame shankar,i lost all respect i had for you all this year because you came so cheap to win.a singer of your status have to fight with new comers to gain points.i was watching dance india dance before this and this is we call the real judges.one singer who was an exceptional in his style of dancing was eliminated because he made mistake in one of the close rounds.and see this your show the judges do not have any sense about their job and their behavior specially himesh and mika there is no need to have further shows since in my opinion shan is the real winner he is real honest he always gives chance to his team mates.i am surprised how the producer of this show allows all to happen.i am sad no words not happy may god bless shan
