Bachelor of Science in Human Science
The Human Science track provides a unique opportunity for students
interested in pursuing a career in such fields as health policy,
scientific writing, biomedical research, pharmaceutical and medical
technology
management, public
health, and other science-based health-related
professions. Human science is also ideal for
students who wish to pursue graduate education in
medicine, dentistry, physical therapy, veterinary
medicine, and other biomedical sciences.
Distinguished from a traditional Biology major, the Human Science
department allows students to study the application of scientific
discoveries in biology, chemistry, mathematics, and physics to
human health. Human Science students also study genetics, immunology,
biotechnology, microbiology, pharmacology and pathophysiology.
The Progam features:
- Junior
and Senior Seminars, providing the opportunity to interpret,
discuss, and analyze primary research in the human sciences.
- NHS Discovery Center - a new, state-of-the-art teaching
laboratory and research facility
- Research opportunities and internships prepare students for
a number of possible career paths.
- Opportunities to participate in the production of the online,
peer-reviewed GU Journal of
Health Sciences.
- Students participation
in the Georgetown
University Undergraduate Research Conference (pictured
above and below).
