Oslo, Norway -

Delegation leaders from the 39 participating countries are generally "impressed", after being briefed in detail by Host Broadcaster NRK about the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest in Oslo, Norway. The production team unveiled the complete creative plan behind the production, as well as event coordination details.

Svante Stockselius, Executive Supervisor of the Eurovision Song Contest on behalf of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), announced that the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest will be broadcast in the 39 participating countries, as well as in Australia, New Zealand, Hungary, Kosovo and Kazachstan. The EBU reminded present delegates that just like in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, viewers can cast their votes by phone and/or SMS throughout the entire show this year.

Show Producer Hasse Lindmo presented the creative concept of the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest, based on the slogan Share The Moment. "What do over 120 million viewers look like?" Lindmo asked the delegates. "On the Monday morning after the Eurovision Song Contest, Azerbaijan and the United Kingdom are very different places. But on that Saturday night in the end of May, for a couple of hours, we are all connected through the contest. We would like to make that visible," the producer explained.

NRK announced to record a part of each postcard in each participating country over the next weeks, and include live backstage footage from the upcoming contestant as well. Another, unprecedented part of the postcard will be digitally rendered inside the arena, right above the heads of the audience.

"When we got briefed by the EBU, back in June, and we got the recommendation not to make the contest bigger than in Moscow, but to try another approach, a different hook, a refreshing upgrade," Lindmo explained. "That is exactly what we tried to do."

The 2010 Eurovision Song Contest will take place on 25, 27 and 29 May in Oslo, Norway.

(In reply to escfanireland86:) Quite a few countries that aren't in Europe can participate, not just Israel. It's all to do with who's in the EBU and who isn't. As far as I'm concerned, Kosovo are "in the process" of becoming an independant state, so I imagine because of this they wouldn't be allowed to participate just yet.

Why don't we offer Kosovo the chance to participate? Israel isn't in Europe and they can enter. Not that I have anything against Israel or anyone from there please don't get me wrong... It does not matter to me where someone is from as long as they are good people. Good luck everyone!! Please vote for the UK :D

That part of the postcard above the audience sounds interesting! Does it mean like CGI, or will there be some sort of projectors, so the image is really above the audience? :P
