American Apparel Donate 5000 Pairs of Socks to Haiti
FASHION RETAILER AMERICAN APPAREL DONATES 5,000 PAIRS OF SOCKS FOR SOLES4SOULS® HAITI RELIEF EFFORT
Soles4Souls, the international shoe charity dedicated to providing shoes to people in need, is delighted to announce that American Apparel will donate more than 5,000 pairs of socks for Haiti Relief. All donations will be used for Haiti relief.
“One of the benefits of vertical-integration is that our inventory is on-hand here in the USA,” said Ryan Holiday, Representative for American Apparel. “American Apparel employees boxed up thousands of garments at our factory in Los Angeles for the victims and we really appreciate the important infrastructure that Soles4Souls provides because we would be able to get it to Haiti without them.”
Soles4Souls has committed more than 1.3 million pairs of shoes to the devastated area. They have partnered with other organizations on the ground in Haiti to transport and distribute the aid. More than 120,000 pairs of shoes, including work boots, rain boots, children’s athletic shoes and clothing items, have already been distributed in Haiti. The shoe charity announced it will continue to send shoes and other supplies to the region throughout 2010 as a part of their sustainable efforts to help Haiti in the rebuilding efforts.
