Gabriela Konevska-Trajkovska
Gabriela Konevska-Trajkovska, former Macedonian Deputy Prime Minister in Charge of European Affairs, died Wednesday after battling a long and serious illness.

The government will hold a commemorative service on Thursday at 11:00am, its PR service said in a press release.

Trajkovska was born in 1971 and took the helm of Macedonia's EU integration bid in 2006.

Before taking public office she was active in the fight against corruption in her position as president of the NGO Transparency Macedonia.

During Trajkovska's professional career she was also a personal political advisor to the Special Coordinator of the Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe, Erhard Busek.

Funeral services are scheduled to take place at Skopje’s main Butel city cemetery at noon on Thursday.
