Sometimes credited as Bill McIntyre, he had a long career Off Broadway and on the Main Stem as well as in regional theater companies.
McIntyre was born in Rochester, N.Y., and grew up in Grand Rapids, Mich. He appeared in many regional productions including at the Long Wharf, McCarter and Guthrie theater companies.
He appeared with Maureen Stapleton on Broadway in "The Secret Affairs of Mildred Wild" and was Off Broadway in the long-running production of "The Fantasticks." He toured in the national company of "The Great White Hope."
McIntyre's many television appearances include "Murphy Brown," "Dallas" and "Newhart." He was last seen in a New York production of "You Can't Take It With You."
