On Tuesday (March 16), Justin Bieber released the Motown-style ballad "U Smile," the second single from his new album My World 2.0, which drops on March 23. And, as is his habit, the 16-year-old immediately went to Twitter to announce the release and urge his fans to make the song reach the top of the iTunes chart.

" 'U Smile' is already #12 on iTunes and climbing!! Thanks," he tweeted Tuesday morning.

Bieber shared with his fans the inspiration behind the song. " 'U Smile' is one of the best songs I have ever recorded," he wrote. "It really is a throwback to the great records I listened to growing up. ... I wrote it for all my fans who got me here.

"U took me from a small town in Canada to this amazing opportunity I am living now," Bieber added. "I am so grateful for everything and so blessed for all of your support. I wrote 'U Smile' with my friend August with that in mind. ... So this one is for U. Enjoy it and know that u the fans give me my strength in a lot of this."

As if giving his fans a new song wasn't enough of a treat, Bieber also announced dates for the first leg of his tour. He is set to kick it off on June 23 in Hartford, Connecticut, and finish on September 4 in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Tickets for most of the shows go on sale March 27.

Bieber also said he has plans to release more dates soon. "If u don't see ur city on the tour dates at www.bieberfever.com, don't worry because that's just the 1st leg. ... More dates to come too," he wrote. "We will be covering all of the U.S. and Canada in this North America tour between 1st and 2nd leg."
