In the 1950s, Richard Hearne was known on TV as the accident-prone Mr Pastry. In 1974, 'Doctor Who' producer Barry Letts considered Hearne for the role of the fourth Doctor - until it became clear that Hearne thought he was being asked to play the part as Mr Pastry. Instead, the role was given to Tom Baker.
