Gordon Brown 'bigoted woman' jibe caught on tape

Prime Minister Gordon Brown has been caught on microphone describing a voter he had just met as a "bigoted woman".

Mr Brown made the remark as he got into his car after speaking with Labour voter Gillian Duffy in Rochdale.

The prime minister was unaware as he made the remark that his wireless microphone was still switched on thus enabling reporters to hear his private conversation with a campaign aide
