David Rose In Conversation

The producer/director and former Senior Commissioning Editor for Fiction at Channel 4 joins Sir Jeremy Isaacs on the BFI Southbank stage to discuss a career making some of the greatest British programming ever produced. Here the revered filmmaker recalls his experiences of landmark series like Softly, Softly and Z Cars (the latter enjoying an astonishing run of 176 episodes after originally only being commisioned for six) and his ground-breaking work at the BBC's Pebble Mill studios galvanising new British writing and directing talent. The event culminated in his receiving the BFI Fellowship from FilmFour's Tessa Ross in recognition of his outstanding contribution to film and television culture.
