We are very proud of our school which was established in 1864 and is one of the two founding schools of Hamilton.

The large wooden classroom block is believed to be the longest wooden structure in the Southern Hemisphere.

The school is set in spacious, well established grounds with excellent facilities. The buildings are architecturally pleasing and have been recently painted.

Hamilton West is a full primary school with a roll range of 470 - 520.The Board of Trustees and Principal are committed to providing low student teacher ratios.
