The Gap Analysis Program has created a GAPServe mapping application built to allow users to view the GAP Data layers across state boundaries without having to download the files to their own GIS application.

Open the GAPServe Map with the following GAP theme highlighted. From these base maps you can search for a specific species to add to the map. You can view a national map showing the species' distribution, or zoom in to an individual county or hydrologic unit.

The GAPServe mapping application was build using technologies and specifications that allow mapping applications to take advantage of using these maps without downloading them. Users and applications may deep link to a specific GAPServe map.  Or users and applications may access the layers of the GAPServe without downloading and loading onto a server.

Each of the the species distribtion maps are contained within a WMS Map Service descriptions, and the associated WMS capabilities files.  For more information on using the GAP WMS services. For more information, please email geospatial@nbii.gov.

    Deep Link to GAPServe Maps

The new GAP Data Mapping application from the GAP Analysis Program now provides the capability to deep link to a map of Landcover, Stewardship, or a Species Distribution for a particular species. Here are four examples showing how deep links to the GAP Data Mapping application works:
