Netherlands: 17 countries so far for Eurovision in Concert

The line up for the Dutch preview event is still growing. We can reveal exclusively that the Polish representative Marcin Mrozinski, the Georgian hopeful Sofia Nizharadze and the Lithuanian participants InCulto will also take part at Eurovision in Concert on April 24. Until so far 17 countries confirmed their participation and more will be expected soon.
The municipality of Zaanstad, part of the metropolitan area of Amsterdam, will be the host city of the second edition of Eurovision in Concert. Several participants at this year's Eurovision Song Contest will be taking part at the biggest Eurovision promo event which will take place on April 24.
All delegations will be welcomed at the Zaans Museum  by the mayor of Zaandam, Miss Geke Faber. Right after, all participating artists will be offered a guided tour through Zaanse Schans, a neighbourhood of Zaandam, which has a collection of well-preserved historic windmills and houses. Therefore Zaanse Schans is one of the most popular touristic attractions of the region. Both national and international press are welcome to join this official programme.

Later that night, the concert will take place at Lexion, one of the most modern party venues in the area of Zaanstad and located in one of its municipals, Westzaan. Lexion can host up to 1,500 fans. Fans will be able to make use of special shuttle buses to be brought back from the venue to Amsterdam after the show. The concert will be hosted by the 1987 Dutch representative Marga Bult and the Dutch commentator at the Eurovision Song Contest, Cornald Maas. The afterparty will be hosted by German DJ Ohrmeister, a well known Eurovision DJ.

The following 17 countries have already confirmed their participation:

  • Poland - Marcin Mrozinski - Legenda
  • Georgia - Sofia Nizharadze - Shine
  • Lithuania - InCulto - East European Funk
  • Malta - Thea Garrett - My dream

|MY DREAM| |MALTA| [38935]
Thu 8 Apr 2010 14:04:23

HEy MArio Mir and Lina!!
Don't say ALL the Maltese do that sort of stuff!!I for one support Malta's entry each year because it's my country but I don't do that sort of stuff like Sabi love or what his name does!!Besides I don't agree with his or some others mentality to feel superior over anyone!!!
Come on Sabi and other Maltese with his mentality-please take this festival as a big European concert and not as a big important competition!!Yes, we have to support our entries but not diminish the beauty of others!!IMO Soraya was very good and if you Sabi are still laughing please don't count me with you beacuse I'm still wondering how did she place so bad-it was one of my favs!!Let's be real,Malta's entries these few years weren't good enough to compete with the rest and one final comment to Lina, don't worry I for one support your entry cause I think it's one of the good ones in fact I really belive it will pass but on the otherhand I am really doubting Malta's place in this year's final!!!
Come on dear Maltese, let’s all support our entry but please take this contest more lightly and not as if it will be the end of the world if Malta does bad!!!
MY TOP 10 for OSLO 2010:

Forget about all these boring lullaby songs (Malta, Cyprus, Belgium)...and the trilogy of terror in this year's contest (The Netherlands, Slovenia and Lithuania), all part of the Dutch Eurovision. Since they can't pass the semi at least they want a Eurovision of their own, with the wakest entries this year (with few exceptions all are bad)...

Check out the official romanian video for "Playing with fire" made with the same technology as in "Avatar"...Enjoy!

Holland is too far to go and 25 Euros are too much to pay to listen to Eeast European Funk and My Dream, even if you are only travelling from Belgium.

This is just another way to make money zzzzzz what's the point a person is better off going to the actual event.

@ sabi love

1) I never spam with "Madrid 2011" because that's so childish, for whatever country. And by the way I'm from Barcelona...
2) Everybody support his/her country but it must be on a realistic way. I didn't support Las Ketchup or Chikilicuatre in the past because they were awful, and I was happy they failed big time.
3) You can laugh on Soraya, I don't care. Her performance was good, but she was not voted. But at least was a decent performance. In my opinion, there were a couple of performances in Top 10 that were simply awful but...it's ESC.
4) We're not 60M, just 45M. And if I'm not wrong Iceland has less population than Malta, and the Icelandic entries are usually more professional, with some exceptions of course.
5) If Spanish singers, in the same way that the others Big4, care a little about ESC, we could have a Top10 at least every year, but here ESC is seen as something for amateur or starting career's singers and no established names are interested at all.

Doesn't Malta's song reminds you of Glennis Grace - My impossible dream?? the chorus is very very similar!!

Or is it just me? :)

Countries want to participate in this concert because it is fun. It is a nice opportunity to meet other participants in a non competitive setting. Of course the winner won't be decided there. And maybe Greece will join the party. Last year they had to stop the admissions when there were 20/25 admissions.

Maybe you are a bit obsessed with Greece... ;)

LOL, that was a good one, dimitris! :D

" why does it not surprises me that the Greek candidate won't be in the Netherlands.." as i remember last year winner wasnt in Netherlands, of course Greece is not the winner this year but i want to remind you that, also that mini ESC in Netherlands dont quarantee any countrey success, and if this year winner want be in Netherlands consert for sure next year nobody is going to participate in that mini ESC Consert :P

The more, the merrier! :) I am still waiting for Israel and Ireland to join the party. As for the UK, where is the revamped song?
I would like to see Belarus taking part too, beacause I am eager to hear them perform 'Butterflies' live.

I am not from Malta, but I like 'My dream'. As far as this year's ballads go, it's one of the best and Thea can sing (I cannot say the same about some other performers that seem to be doing so well in the polls). Greetings from Portugal, Malta!

mario mir

amateur singers? what about you? and how can u compere 60 million with 400, 000? you dont even have respect for smaller countries with small populations.

with a population like yours you should find the best songs and singers in the world and win eurovision every year.

why does it not surprises me that the Greek candidate won't be in the Netherlands......

Lol!Why do you single out Greece? There are 22 countries that won't be there.Besides,Greece was not there last year either...Maybe you are a bit obsessed with Greece... ;)

mario mir

and how can i forget your madrid 2010?????????????????????????? ?????????

every body suports his/her country after all. greeks/turkish/armenians etc etc so whats the big deal?

in spain you are still laughing at olivia lewis. in europe we ar still laughing at soraya and her position in the finals.

Mario Mir [44111]

@ Lina

Don't argue with Maltese fans. Every year they overrate their songs and spam all news with "Valletta 2008", "Valletta 2009" etc etc. and at the end all we know that their entries fails miserably, because apart of few singers (Chiara, Ira Losco and some other) the rest of singers they send are purely amateur and barely pathethic (in Spain we are still laughing on Olivia Lewis' memorable performance in our NF).
So, why argue? Let them spamming with "Valletta 2011" all they want and adoring Thea's song. The rest of us know that Thea is a strong contender for the 17th position, even for a "doughnut" this year if she keeps the horrendous idea of the megabird.

@Sabi love, i have never insult Maltese song ! But i cant see reactions like " Maltese song is the best from all this 17 countries" from a Maltese person, as for Greece i want to tell you something... each countrey vote for 10 songs and not only for one , so why i have to vote for Greece every year ( personal i have NEVER vote for Greece and i dont care if you beleave it or not ) ? As for Maltese song is no good and dont deserve to be in the final ( in my oppinion ) , latest years if you remember i support Maltese songs beacuse i like them but this year NOBODY can force me to like it ! Last year everybody ( included you ) speak very bad for Firefly and Christina's voise and i never insult you , things this year change and you have to accept negative comments for your countrey song ! Thea's voise is good but the song is dissaster and pools speaks already, also ESC suprices does not included Malta, Cyprus and some other countries ! You have to learn to speaking the language of truth and not the language of dreaming ! Cyprus song this year is good ( is not perfect but is good and deserve to be in the final ) but as a Cypriot i already know and i accept that is not going to pass to the final ! I hope that make you feel better !

Well there is no country of the Big Four. I'm glad. United Kingdom, France, Germany and Spain should participate in the semi-finals. Opt out of the Big Four
