WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Federal and state agencies are working in partnership to help Oklahoma residents following the tornadoes, severe storms and flooding of May 3-5.
- Effective May 12, the declaration for Oklahoma was amended to extend the public assistance disaster program to Canadian, Craig and Noble counties, all of which were already designated for the individual assistance program.
- One person is still missing. The state confirms 42 storm-related deaths.
- All shelters have closed and displaced residents are now in temporary housing.
- There are four Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) open in affected areas.
- More than 1,250 housing inspections have been completed.
- The Disaster Field Office (DFO) has received 829 eligible Disaster Housing applications, so far, for which 698 assistance checks have been written for a total of $870,805.
- The Small Business Administration has received 401 disaster loan applications, of which 18 have been approved for a total of $860,500.
