The Dorrance H. Hamilton Garden
Capital Giving
The Kimmel Center is a rare and wonderful institution, with the potential for major impact on an entire geographic region today and for generations to come. Capital gifts provide the funds needed to maintain and improve the Kimmel Center, Inc. facilities including Verizon Hall, Perelman Theater, Merck Education Center, and the Academy of Music. An investment in the Kimmel Center demonstrates a profound commitment to the cultural and social enrichment of millions of people now and in the future who will enjoy this Philadelphia landmark.

Endowment
In October 2003, The Pew Charitable Trust, The Lenfest Foundation and The Annenberg Foundation announced a five-year challenge grant to build a $50 million endowment for the Kimmel Center. As the foundations pledged their operational support for the Center, they challenged others in the region to provide additional financial support in the form of endowment gifts. To receive $13 million in operational funding, the Kimmel Center must raise $50 million in endowment monies by 2007.

The Kimmel Center’s income from our endowment helps maintain reasonable ticket prices and allows us to make concerts more accessible to the public. Kimmel Center endowment opportunities include supporting education programs, executive positions, concerts or series, or specific areas and rooms in the Kimmel Center.
