Bio: Devin Kalile Grayson lives in Oakland, California, with her loyal medical service dog, Cody. Cody is a handsome Golden Retriever who has been trained to alert Devin--who is a Type 1 diabetic--to the onset of hypoglycemia, keeping her safe from dangerous drops in her blood glucose levels. The two can frequently be found hiking in the redwoods, playing on the beach, or working at Dogs4Diabetics, the nonprofit organization in Concord responsible for training Cody. Cody continues sharpening his skills while Devin works as the Director of Communications for Dogs4Diabetics.

After falling in love with the original Dynamic Duo as a young adult, Devin devoted her life to comics, working on a wide range of series and graphic novels despite never having had the opportunity to explore the medium as child. Making up for lost time, she broke into the industry in 1997 with "Like Riding a Bike," a ten-page Dick and Donna story for The Batman Chronicles #7. That led to a Batman Plus special with Arsenal, the Catwoman and Nightwing annuals for that year, and then the Catwoman series at DC.

Other work includes Relative Heroes, a six-part creator-owned limited series following the adventures of a new group of teen heroes called The Weinbergs (and featuring a gay team leader); a two-year run on The Titans; several miniseries, including Nightwing & Huntress and Arsenal for DC and Black Widow and Ghost Rider for Marvel Knights; contributions to the acclaimed "No Man's Land" and "Bruce Wayne: Fugitive" arcs in the Batman books; and USER, a three-part, prestige format, creator-owned Vertigo miniseries about sexual identity issues and online role-playing, which was nominated in the "Outstanding Comic Book" category by GLAAD (the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation).

She is perhaps best known for the creation of Batman: Gotham Knights and her work on Nightwing. Additional work includes X-Men: Evolution for Marvel and Matador, a creator-owned project with artist Brian Stelfreeze published by Wildstorm.

Devin's success in the industry has been showcased in mainstream media such as USA Today, Working Woman, and Entertainment Weekly and also in alternative press such as The Village Voice, The Advocate, and Curve.

Most recently, Devin has been writing licensed publication novels, including Smallville: City and DC Universe: Inheritance. Though she did develop the new lesbian Batwoman character for DC, there are no current plans for a series.
