Printing under GNU/Linux sucks!

27-Feb-06

Last week I made a big blunder of buying a used Samsung ML-1250 printer based on the web reviews and on the commitment from Samsung (as printer in their brochures and manuals) that it will work for sure with GNU/Linux. I spent almost all of today trying to get it to work under GNOME on [...]

11 CW QSOs in a row

19-Feb-06

I just had my largest number of CW QSOs in a day today with about 11 QSOs completed. The conditions were very good for some period and the stations made best use of it. I had QSOs with mostly European countries like Italy, Sweden, Slovania, Estonia, Poland etc and also from Hong Kong and one [...]

Next week

18-Feb-06

I am going to be on vacation from next wednesday onwards. I plan to start learning touch typing in this period. I can already do it quite well, but still some of the usage of my finger is not very efficient, so I thought I will take one of the online lessons available and improve [...]

Bouncing emails

13-Feb-06

I run my own SMTP server which delivers email directly to the receipient. Over the last few days, I am noticing that my emails are not delivered properly. Many of them bounce, some of them simply queue up and refuse to go out of the queue. After some investigation, I found that the IP address [...]

Unfortunately, there was no modification date information on thoe RSS file and all the previous posts are now shown as modified [...]

Thanks a million to Rajesh, VU3VOC, the HF dipole for 20m and 40m is up and working. Rajesh came and helped buy the GI pipe and other stuff, tied the dipole on both the ends, fixed the mast and did everything. HAM truely is Help All Mankind! ]]>

Got my first QSL card from Rajesh, VU3VOC! N2UHC’s Homebrewing page. Homebrew shaft encoder from Mouse parts. Optical, Mechanical. There is a lot of activity in 40m, but 20m is very quite. I see Italy and Russian stations and occasionally Srilankan ones, but didn’t see any VU station on voice in the past four days [...]

07-Feb-06

Had been really busy with work and didn’t have enough time to play with the radio, but somehow I found 30 minutes everyday practicing the K7QO code CD. So far I have finished 63 files. The more interesting things are yet to come. CW definitely is more exciting than voice. I am thinking of writing [...]

Switched to pyblosxom

07-Feb-06

I just switched my blog to hand-edited one to pyblosxom and imported afew entries manually to it. Have to get my advogato entries here too. ]]>
