Putting together a Junk Box

Being a relatively new radio amateur and homebrewer, I am confronted with the problem of finding parts when I want to build something interesting. One cannot go to the shops whenever one needs every single resistor which costs 10 paise each. I understood off late that one needs to put together what is called a “junk box”. The word “junk” has positive connotations among Ham radio Homebrew folks.

So here is a list I assembled together based on two main sources on the web as well as based on various other emails in mailing lists like hambrewers (yahoogroups). Thanks also goes to Hari, VU2GHB on letting me know the availability of various parts.

So here we go.

This parts list was setup from these sources.

1. An article written by Mike Boatright, KO4WX

2. Email posted by Chuck Adams K7QO to qrp-l mailing list.

3. http://www.kkn.net/archives/html/QRP-L/2002-07/msg01355.html

Some of the components were removed from the lists and some added based on availability in India. I still do not guarantee availability of all of these in India. I will keep updating this list as time goes by.
