RFI problems are a thing of the past!
Last thursday night, we heard a big blast outside and also some a brief display of fire near our main 11kV transformer. We spent the night wothout power. When I came back from work on friday evening and switched on my radio, all my calculations came true. The RFI is gone! Perhaps the cause of fire and the blackout itself was the sparks which was causing the very same RFI, which I was trying to root out without much success.
Though I was away for the weekend, I have already had several great QSOs in the few minutes I was on air, post-RFI. This is really a great new year gift to me from nature.
