Nick Saban is right: Agents are pimps

Pssst? Want some illegal benefits?

Kudos to Nick Saban, Mr. Integrity. (We’ll temporarily forget that business transaction with the University of Alabama, shortly after he vowed loyalty to the Miami Dolphins).

But seriously.

His rip job on unscrupulous agents is spot-on. They are pimps. Of course, pimps need prostitutes to sell themselves, or else there really wouldn’t be a job market for pimps.

Still, if we’re going to parcel out degrees of guilt, I agree with Little Nicky. These guys are preying on young kids _ who should know better _ but it’s hard to resist when apples _ expensive ones _ get dangled on temptation island.

“I don’t think it’s anything but greed that’s creating it right now on behalf of the agents,” Saban, Alabama’s head football coach, said during the Southeastern Conference media days on Wednesday. “The agents that do this — and I hate to say this, but how are they any better than a pimp?

“I have no respect for people who do that to young people. None. How would you feel if they did it to your child?”

This conversation needs to move to the NFL and NFLPA offices. If anybody wants to play these unethical and illegal games, then you will no longer be able to practice as a licensed sports agent representing current or potential NFL players.

Get rid of the cheats systematically.

And then they will be forced to find other jobs.

Like pimps.

Unfortunately, as we know, as long as there is money involved there will be lawyers/agents preying on the naive. I am sure that as fast as the league offices come up with rules the agents will come up with ways around them. Yes, it has to be systematic but it also has to be something that has teeth in it, or it will not be followed. Perhaps the NCAA or the different league offices should open thier own compliance offices on each campus and be able to act as fast as possible instead of 6-60 months down the line. As it stands now, the people actually paying the price for coaches, players, and agents misbehavior isnt the ones who dfid wrong its the innocent and that is contrary to the American Way.

First it is insulting that you post a pic of a black man as a Pimp..interesting since you are a man of color …second Nick Saban has and had an Agent who for many years \pimped schools and and NFL Team \ for many dollars…Nick gets seats on the team plane for family , private jet use an oh yes he gets to make millions off of college athlete’s , now that is one helluva pimp you pimp.

Rick

I’se be ensultid dat youse cumpares me to one o dem lowlife sports agents! I’se be a hard woikin mofo providin a servise to de pubic at cumpetitive rates! If’n dat ain’t de Amerikan way den pleese be xplaneing to me wat is. Retrack yo statements bout cumparin pimps to agents o I gonna be payin u a visit ands I be bringin my razor wif me.

(First) I’m insulted by Rick being insulted.
(Second) I feel confident in believing that in the history of pimps, there has been at least one documented case of a man of color fitting that description.
(Third) Pimping is not easy
