About Ryan

A sixth generation Frederick County resident, District 4A State delegate candidate, Ryan Trout, lives in Woodsboro. Born into a military family; his father served 20 years in the United States Army, which instilled a sense of pride in his community and a desire to serve it. He grew up in Emmitsburg, graduating from Catoctin High School. Ryan earned a Political Science degree from Mount St. Mary’s University, and has spent the last eight years working in his family’s small business.

After working his way through college at his family’s restaurant, doing everything from washing dishes to managing and representing the business in the community, Ryan participated in a human rights delegation to Rwanda. Upon his return he served a year in AmeriCorps at a mediation center in Washington County.

Continuing to stay active in the community, Ryan is a member of the Sons of the American Legion, Post 121, the Frederick County Farm Bureau, and the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce. Ryan is also Secretary of the Woodsboro Historical Society, and member of the Leadership Frederick County Class of 2010. ” I want our community to prosper, and for that to happen we need leadership that will focus on the needs of Frederick County, our community.
