INTERVIEW |
Tell us about your job/studies |
Before assuming full-time responsibilities as Miss France, I was studying towards a degree in International Business (which included courses in English, Spanish and Chinese). |
How are you preparing for Miss World in South Africa? |
By learning about the principles and goals of Miss World because I want to be able to understand these fully and to be able communicate them effectively to others. Also, I'm trying to learn more about South Africa and South Africans. |
What's your daily routine? |
I don't have any real daily routine. Besides doing the ordinary things that people do each morning, I try to be aware of what is good for the health or not. I also try to remain open to what each day brings and to bring a fresh outlook to each day. |
Which elements of Miss World are you most looking forward to? |
I am looking forward to helping the Miss World organisation shine an international spotlight on children's associations (such as associations defending children's rights or assisting children with cancer). I try not to forget how it was to be a child -- which seems to make children very responsive to me. |
Do you have a message to the other Miss World contestants? |
Don't worry, be happy! Because so much in life depends on your outlook. |
What do you think are you qualities that youwill bring to the competition? |
Optimism; a helpful and encouraging spirit. I always try to boost the spirit of my fellow contestants when they feel down. We are in competition, yes; but that doesn't mean we should be insensitive to each other's feelings. |
What individual talents will seperate you from the other contestants? |
I have been told that I have a natural talent for acting. |
What would it mean to you to do well at Miss World? |
It would mean that I could participate in helping to make many people's lives better. It would also make me feel happy to have done my best and to have made my country proud of me. |
What is your favourite landmark? |
My favourite landmark is the Sacré Coeur because it's at the "top" of Paris. It rises above the city as if inspiring us to lift ourselves higher, to do more noble things. And it's located in quiet and romantic Montmartre. |
What is the one thing you cannot live without? |
Other people. I could not be a hermit. And if I can be of service to people, that's even better. |
Who do you most admire? |
I admire every woman who has done her best to raise her children well so that the world is a better place. |
How do you feel about travelling to South Africa? |
I know that there used to be apartheid in South Africa. Because of my ethnic origins I feel moved to be able to visit South Africa freely. And I have always enjoyed travelling. |
Who has inspired you most in your life? |
Rosa Parks inspired a generation of Black women to fight against racism. A revolution followed her act. She inspires me because her personal decision taught me that a small act can help change the world. |
Do you have any pets? |
I am sad to say that my pet cat, Myosotis, died last year. |
