Cad Bane

The first new major villain to be introduced on The Clone Wars, Cad Bane made an incredible first impression. Here was a guy who fearlessly led a small group into the Republic Senate, with a perfectly executed, ruthless plan that saw him and his team kill any and all who stood in their way - including a Senate Guard who Bane killed by snapping his neck.

The agenda with Cad Bane was obviously to introduce an inarguably cool and effective villain and you have to hand it to The Clone Wars creators for doing just that.

In his subsequent appearances, Bane has continued to be an excellent foil for our Jedi heroes. Boasting an arsenal of weapons and gadgets, a la Boba Fett, the cowboy-influenced character is a calm and deadly presence in any fight. While he doesn't seem to take any discernable pleasure from his most horrific actions, he's obviously rather shockingly amoral about it all. When he was hired by Darth Sideous to help kidnap force-sensitive babies, for experiments that could conceivably kill them, he simply stated, "As long as I get paid, it makes no difference to me." Not the words of a nice guy, huh? But certainly the words of a great villain.
