President Barack Obama is holding a news briefing ahead of talks in the US between Israeli and Palestinian leaders - the first direct negotiations in almost two years.

Both sides have agreed to a one-year time limit on the direct negotiations.

When they meet US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Thursday, Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas and Israeli PM Netanyahu will be in the same room for the first time in almost a year.
