Genpact inks strategic pact with SAB
Press Trust of India / New Delhi August 04, 2009, 19:32 IST

Business process and technology services provider Genpact today said it has entered into a partnership with South African Breweries Ltd (SAB) for managing a shared service centre in Johannesburg.

SAB Ltd is the South African subsidiary of SABMiller plc, a major beer brewer by volume.

As a part of the agreement, Genpact would assume responsibility for SAB’s Shared Services Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa, as its business process manager, Genpact said in a statement, without revealing financial details of the deal.

Moreover, all employees who are part of the centre would move to Genpact with immediate effect as a part of the deal.

SAB Financial Director Garth Saunders said, "This initiative represents an important stage in our business strategy to leverage operational efficiencies. In focusing on business process management in our administrative and financial functions, we are very pleased to bring on board the expertise of a global partner like Genpact and to support their introduction to the South African market."

Genpact President and CEO Pramod Bhasin said, "South Africa is a strategic location for Genpact. Its favourable economic environment, modern infrastructure and diverse workforce will enable us to further strengthen our global delivery model and help us serve our clients better."
