The Detroit Lions confirmed a number of moves from the weekend today, including the trade that sent tight end Dan Gronkowski to the Denver Broncos for cornerback Alphonso Smith. The deal also includes an exchange of undisclosed 2011 draft picks.
Also today, the Lions confirmed making two waiver claims, return specialist Stefan Logan from the Pittsburgh Steelers and linebacker Spencer Havner from the Green Bay Packers. Havner also plays tight end.
The Lions also re-signed seven players they released Saturday to the practice squad: wide receivers Mike Moore and Tim Toone, cornerbacks Paul Pratt and Jonathan Hefney, linebacker Caleb Campbell, defensive tackle Robert Callaway (Saginaw Valley State) and center Dan Gerberry. They still have one practice-squad spot to fill.
Toone, the last pick of April's NFL draft, was the only 2010 selection the Lions did not keep on their active roster. Callaway and Moore are undrafted rookies, while Pratt and Gerberry spent time on the Lions' practice squad last year.
