Wow, you can really tell how male-heavy the audience for History Channel is. The numbers for Pawn Stars and American Pickers are still good, but with Monday Night Football around, their numbers were down quite a bit.

Also, Thintervention? Looks like it could use a Heftervention… It couldn’t even break 500,000!

History averaged 1.016m adults 18-49 last week in primetime.

They averaged 386,000 women 18-49 last week.

So ~60% of their primetime 18-49 audience was male.

I have never run the numbers on male audience % for cable nets, so I’m not sure where that % ranks, but my guess is that not many big cable nets are more male than that.

    Heftervention?

That is a ridiculously low number, especially after its decent premiere last week after the RHONJ finale.

Wow Pawn Stars and American Pickers are powerhouse shows! I watch them both, and I must say those are definitely some of the best shows on all of TV.

The numbers look as good as ever for Pawn Stars and American Pickers. Why would anyone think that these show’s viewers are mostly male? These shows appeal to anyone interested in antiques, collecting, and history. The people that the American Pickers are an education in themselves.

While we do not get gender information for most cable *shows*, as I noted above History Channel’s primetime adults 18-49 audience is 60% male.

  • She

I agree with STRAZ. Kate is a puke. Somebody get her off TV. She’s the most hated woman in America.

Whoa, thanks for those stats! I’d love a post with that sort of info if you have other stats. I’m fascinated by that stuff. Still, I doubt there are many nets with that high of a male ratio. Maybe ESPN, Spike, Comedy Central, and maybe FX…

And just b/c no one else has said anything…. those numbers are some of the absolute worst I’ve ever seen for VH1. Money Hungry and Scream Queens… yikes! Were those reruns? If not, someone get Flavor Flav and New York on the phone ASAP!

Pawn and and Pickers are really cool shows still leaning history. I can’t believe some of the things they bring in and the money they get for it, I scream at the TV. Now there are going to be clones.

  • http://tvbythenumbers.com/ Bill Gorman

Not that I’ve seen via press release, although that still may happen. Since it was not in broadcast primetime we wouldn’t get the ratings from Nielsen until Sept. 24, long after pretty much everyone has stopped caring about it.

  • http://tvbythenumbers.com Robert Seidman

a portion (the last part of the match) was on ESPN2 in primetime, but Travis didn’t post it. We will see that on 9/21, but nobody will probably care by then either.

It was all about Monday Night Football on Monday and nothing else. Even my favorite program WWE Raw couldn’t sustain it. The late game between the Chiefs and Chargers did amazing numbers.

  • http://twitter.com/TheArsassin Joey G

well, with the way ESPN2 rushed it off the air ASAP, i’d guess the ratings are awful anyway. sadness.

The U.S. Open was rushed off ESPN2 because the time was 10:15 p.m. Eastern. The Baltimore-New York game was running long on ESPN so the start of the San Diego-Kansas City game was moved to ESPN2. Had the tennis continued, it would have moved to ESPN Classic.

Have to remember the only reason it ended up on ESPN2 was because of the weather delays. It was still CBS’ broadcast with their logos and production, obviously — so it was kind of an emergency situation and ESPN2 just picked it up. And they had programming commitments anyway with the NFL, so it makes sense they’d rush it off the air. Wasn’t their programming really to begin with.

I worked on Scream Queens and these ratings make me so sad. It’s not a horrible show! :(
