The story behind the show

The first ever Junior Eurovision Song Contest was held on 15th of November 2003. The place to be was Copenhagen, Denmark.

As the Danish broadcaster DR had already some experience in organising such children's TV-shows then the right to host the first ever contest was given to them.

It was the first time any Eurovision contest had been broadcast in the 16:9 format and a DVD was released.

A total of 16 countries participated and the event was won by eleven-year-old Dino Jelusić, who represented Croatia with his song Ti Si Moja Prva Ljubav (You Are My First Love).
