Nima Corporation
The NIMA Corporation (Nunivak Island Mekoryuk Alaska) is a private, for profit, Alaska Native owned corporation representing the Cup’ig Eskimos of Nunivak Island. Incorporated in July 1973 pursuant to the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANSCA) of 1972, NIMA is headquartered in the village of Mekoryuk on Nunivak Island, with an office in Anchorage, Alaska.
The NIMA Corporation and its family of companies are dedicated to developing economic opportunities to benefit its shareholders while remaining steadfastly committed to preserving Cup’ig culture and traditions. NIMA is the parent, investment, and holding corporation for five (5) companies, NIMA Store Inc, North Island Corporation (NIC), Great Northern Investment Group LLC (GNIG), Nuniwarmiut Home Renovators LLC (NHR), and Nunivak Island Cultural Education and Adventures LLC (NICEA). The NIMA Corporation anticipates adding other companies to the “family” in the future in a continuing quest for increased opportunities and diversification.
