RATINGS FOR ABC’S “GOOD MORNING AMERICA”

“GMA” Only Morning Show to Gain Total Viewers Versus Third Quarter 2009

“GMA” Cuts Total Viewing Gap with NBC Versus Last Season,

Third Quarter 2009 and Same Week Last Year

“GMA” Extends its Total Viewing Advantage Over CBS Versus Last Season,

Third Quarter 2009 and Same Week Last Year

For the week of September 13th, ABC’s “Good Morning America” averaged 3.920 million Total Viewers and a 1.3/10 among Adults 25-54.

“GMA” narrowed the Total Viewing gap with NBC’s “Today” by -7% year to year.

Additionally, ABC’s Total Viewing (1,560,000) lead over CBS’ “Early Show” was +12% larger versus the same week last year.

Note: Robin Roberts was on assignment Monday 9/13/10.

Third Quarter 2010

During 3Q10, “GMA” stood as the only network morning show to increase its Total Viewing audience over 3Q09 (+2%). “Today” was down by -2%, while “Early Show” declined by -7%.

“GMA” narrowed the Total Viewing gap with NBC’s “Today” by -16% compared to 3Q09. This is the smallest Total Viewing gap between the two programs for a 3Q since 2007.

“GMA” widened its margins over CBS’ “Early Show” versus 3Q09 by +18% in Total Viewers and by +2% in Adults 25-54. This is the largest Total Viewing gap between the two programs for a 3Q since 2007.

2009 – 2010 Season

For the 09/10 season, “GMA” beat “Early Show” by +65% in Total Viewers (4.24 million vs. 2.57 million) and by +63% in Adults 25-54 (1.73 million vs. 1.06 million). Compared to the 08/09 season, the Total Viewing gap between “GMA” and “Early Show” was +9% larger.

Compared to the 08/09 season, the Total Viewing gap between “GMA” and “Today” was -2% smaller.

The Emmy Award-winning morning news program, featuring the anchor team of Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, Sam Champion and Juju Chang, airs live Monday through Friday from 7:00-9:00 a.m., ET on the ABC Television Network. Jim Murphy is the senior executive producer and Tom Cibrowski is the executive producer of ABC’s “Good Morning America.”

Note: Diane Sawyer co-anchored the broadcast through December 11.  George Stephanopoulos’ first broadcast was on December 14.
