Free Income Tax Preparation For Families

From now until April 18, families earning up to $50,000 and individuals earning up to $25,000 can get their income taxes prepared for free.  The federal Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) can return more than $5,600 to those who are eligible.  Residents are encouraged to call the city's 3-1-1 non-emergency number to find the free tax site closest to their homes or places of business.

Mayor Daley Announces Walmart To Build Six New Stores In Englewood, Chatham, Pullman And West Loop Communities

Mayor Richard M. Daley and Walmart officials announced that the retailer would build six new stores in the Englewood, Chatham, Pullman and West Loop neighborhoods over the next two years.
