If you are a news provider with multimedia content, we may be able to include your content in Google News. Please note that we don't currently accept podcasts or isolated audio and video files.
If your site displays text content alongside your multimedia content, we may crawl this text as a news article and link users back to your multimedia content. If your site features text and multimedia content, please contact us and we'll be happy to review it for inclusion. An example of a site that we can successfully crawl is NPR.org. Learn more about how we crawl text content on this page.
Embedded videos are from news providers with YouTube channels. If you create original news videos for online streaming and own all the copyrights and distribution rights for these materials, please follow the steps below if you'd like to have your videos embedded in Google News.
1. Set up a YouTube Channel.
Sign up for a YouTube Account
Go to the YouTube Sign Up page and create a new YouTube account. Having your own account will allow you to arrange all of your video content in a single location with its own YouTube URL such as http://www.youtube.com/MyNewsSite. This is called a YouTube channel.
Customize your videos
Make sure to select "Reporter" from the pull-down menu when you're going through the registration process and choosing your account type. This will make it easier for people interested in news to find your content while channel browsing.
Upload your videos
Visit the YouTube Video Toolbox for best practices on how to shoot, edit, and upload your videos to YouTube.
Optimize your videos
Make sure you upload your news videos as soon as you have them ready. Also, in order to allow for better classification of your videos, please provide a descriptive title followed by a short description of the videos. Learn more tips here
Note: If you already have a YouTube Account and channel, make sure your channel type is set to "Reporter" on the Channel Info section of your Account settings page.
2. Let the Google News Team know
Once you've created a YouTube channel, please send us your information. Our team will review your submission and follow up.
3. Join the YouTube Partner Program
We encourage all Google News providers with YouTube channels to apply to the YouTube Partner Program. You can learn more about the benefits of partnering with YouTube on the following page. Go to the YouTube Partner Program page to apply.
4. Submit changes to your video content
If your YouTube channel name is changed in the future, let us know so that we can ensure your new information is reflected in Google News.
5. Report Issues with your YouTube videos in Google News
If your video titles are showing up incorrectly in Google News or your videos are not being embedded in Google News results, please make sure to follow the tips on how to optimize your YouTube content by including clear titles, relevant tags and detailed descriptions for your video. If you still experience the same issues, please let us know.
Removing your videos from Google News
If you'd like us to remove one or more of your videos from Google News, please contact us. We process removals at publishers' request. Keep in mind that the removal process normally takes a few days, and that we're unable to re-add a video once it has been removed from our index.
