Dillon Battistini has signed with Bryan Herta Autosport to drive the No. 29 car in the Indy Lights season finale this weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway, Oct. 2. Battistini won at Homestead in 2008, while driving for Panther Racing. It was his debut race in an Indy Lights car.
He recently returned to the cockpit at Chicagoland — driving for Team PBIR — after a 16-month hiatus.
Battistini is replacing Sebastian Saavedra who bailed on Bryan Herta Autosport mid-weekend during the stop at Kentucky. Saavedra is scheduled to make his second IndyCar start of the season with Conquest Racing. Unless, of course, he decides to pursue another option between now and then.
LOL at Saavedra chirp.
