This section is designed to make your visit to the Islington Council website as easy as possible.

Homepage

The homepage is the best starting point to find out the information you are looking for. To return to the homepage from anywhere in this website, click on the Islington logo on the top left, or click on Home underneath Main Menu.

On the homepage we have grouped together the most popular links for websites users, including:

  • Do It Online - listing common services and transactions, plus a link to the Do It Online main page
  • Quick Links - a list of popular pages and sections within the website
  • Contact Us - details on how to get in touch with the council
  • Find It - links to our postcode search, directories and interactive maps - see below

The homepage also features the latest News and Events plus Hot Topics, telling you what's currently going on in the borough and within the council.

Main Menu

On the left hand side you will find the ten main sections of the website. These are:

To see these from any other page, click on the Other Sections link on the top left hand side of each page. Within each of these pages are sub-sections about everything Islington Council and the borough has to offer.

Search and the A-Z

If you know exactly what you are looking for, but don't know where to find it, try the Search along the top bar of every page.

Just type in the relevant word, for example 'consultation', and any pages on the website relevant to that subject will be listed.

Alternatively using the A-Z is a quick way to find the information you are after on the site. Click on the link for A-Z in the grey bar at the top.

The most important pages of the website are listed here alphabetically. Simply click on a letter to see a list of pages beginning with that letter.

Information About Your Property

Click on the link for Find My Nearest underneath Do It Online on the right. By inputting your postcode or address, you will find useful information about living in Islington.

Who your councillor is, which days your bins are emptied, which controlled parking zone you live in and how close is your local library - you can find it all in Find My Nearest!

Interactive Maps

Interactive Maps is our mapping system that gives you information on services around Islington.

You can look at a particular subject, for example where all the theatres or parking bays are located in Islington. Or you can put in your postcode and find out where you nearest service is in relation to your home, such as your nearest hospital.

Using the mapping system, you can also:

  • report an abandoned vehicle
  • see what roadworks are taking place
  • view the council's current housing stock and lets

Online Directories

The Online Directories brings together a wide range of information and contact details, including:

  • FAQs gives you answers to your frequently asked questions, as well as downloadable forms and contact information.
  • Directory of Services offers a wide range of services to residents, businesses and visitors to the borough.
  • Directory of Local Services provides information about local public services in Islington.
  • Children's Directory is an online guide to services for children, young people and families.
  • Refugee Services Directory is an online guide for refugees, asylum seekers and professionals.
  • Supporting People Directory lists housing support services to encourage sustainable independent living.

Downloadable Documents

Many of the council's leaflets and application forms are available on the site for you to download. Virtually all these documents are in PDF format, which means they can only be seen using Adobe Acrobat.
