Tom Eaves was Wanderers' fifth recruit in the 2010 summer transfer window.
The 18-year-old signed a three-year contract at the Reebok Stadium after moving from Oldham Athletic for an undisclosed fee.
The transfer came just two weeks after the striker notched an impressive hat-trick against the Whites in a pre-season friendly at Boundary Park.
Eaves progressed through Oldham Athletic's Centre of Excellence under the guidance of former Wanderer Tony Philliskirk before making his Football League debut against Millwall in January of this year.
He went on to tally a total of 15 appearances for the Latics last season, with his performances catching the eye of a number of suitors including that of Owen Coyle.
Indeed, the Bolton boss believes that the club has signed a player with great potential and he is looking forward to integrating the Liverpool-born youngster into the Wanderers' setup.
"We're delighted to have him and we'll look to gradually take step upon step with him, to such a time where he is ready to challenge for a first team place," said Coyle.
