Well it's the first show of the year and with all the talk of the economy, elections and recession you may be forgiven for thinking it would be a slow start to 2010. Well Midlands MCM Expo was MEGA, with huge crownds turning up from 8am for Early Entry and even bigger crowds for general Entry at 11am.
Advance early entry sales were up 63% and all the exhibition space was sold out. So NO slow start to 2010 for MCM Expo.
The show had the usual popular areas, Robots Live, Manga Art Alley, DDR UK, & the Stage Zone. But the show had some BIG video games with stands for Tecmo KOEI, South Peak Games and the EA Games Vault. Konami were on hand with the largest stand running tournaments and demos all day for kids favourite Yu-Gi-Oh.
Movie promos were everywhere, and a hit with the younger audience was the free sticker sets from the forthcoming Nanny McPhee and The Big Bang.
Any Expo would not be complete without Cosplay and Costume characters. Thank you to the hundreds who turned up in Cosplay (The Zombie Disney Character group were awesome) and a special thank you to the Galactic Knights and The UK Garrison.
We hope to see you all at a furture event. Memorabilia 27-28 March, London MCM Expo 29-30 May and of course 19 Feb 2011 at the next Midlands MCM Expo. |
