Lorenzo Zambrano

Lorenzo H. Zambrano earned a B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from Tecnológico de Monterrey (ITESM) in 1966 and an M.B.A. from Stanford University in 1968..Mr. Zambrano joined CEMEX in 1968. He was named chief executive officer in 1985 and has also served as chairman of the board since 1995. CEMEX is a leading global building-materials company; it is listed on the Mexican Stock Exchange (CEMEX CPO) and the New York Stock Exchange (CX). He is a member of the board of directors of IBM and the Mexican company FEMSA, and he serves on the Citigroup International Advisory Board.

He is chairman of the board of Tecnológico de Monterrey, the leading private University in Latin America, and also serves on the board of the Monterrey Museum of Contemporary Art. Mr. Zambrano has earned a number of prestigious honors, including the Woodrow Wilson Award for Corporate Citizenship, the Americas Society's Gold Medal for Distinguished Service, the Excellence in Leadership Award from the Stanford Graduate Business School, and the Ernest C. Arbuckle Award for Managerial Excellence from the Stanford Graduate Business School's Alumni Association.
