SPILLS SIGNS GILLS DEAL
Danny Spiller today became the second trialist to sign up for the Gills in 24 hours when the midfielder put pen to paper on a five month contract.
A graduate of Gillingham's centre of excellence, Danny signed professional forms in 2000, making his senior debut as a second-half sub, away to Bradford City in September 2001.
He enjoyed a run of sparkling form in 2003/04, scoring six times in 43 first team appearances, and was deservedly named the Gills Player of the Season.
Inevitably, his attacking displays brought interest from other clubs with West Ham rumoured to be leading the chase for his signature, at one point
Danny went on to make 138 appearances in all competitions for the Gills before opting to join Millwall on a free transfer in the summer of 2007
Sadly his time at the New Den was blighted by injury with Spills managing just ten outings in two seasons with the Lions.
Released last summer, Danny had brief spells with Wycombe, Welling United and Dagenham & Redbridge in 2009/10 before returning to Priestfield earlier this month for the start of pre-season training.
