Please note that the Stack Overflow trilogy data dumps are now hosted at ClearBits! (prevously legaltorrents.com) You can subscribe via RSS and be notified every time a new dump is available.

If you’d like to play with this month’s data dump without needing to download the torrent, check out our open source Stack Exchange Data Explorer. Please note that it may take a day or two for the SEDE to be updated with the latest monthly data dump.

Have fun remixing and reusing; all we ask is for proper attribution.

  1. Jeff Atwood says:

Note that this torrent was uploaded a day or two ago, but not announced — which turned out to be a good thing as it was corrupt. I just re-uploaded it, so hopefully it’s OK now.

  2. David Friedland says:

Are you going to start producing dumps of the Stack Exchange 2.0 sites?

  3. Jeff Atwood says:

We generally wait about 6 months so there is enough data for it to be interesting, but yes.

  4. Peter Turner says:

Funny you should say, all “we ask” is proper attribution, almost like there’s some “resource for programmer” out there where proper attribution is not particularly easy to find.

  5. Stu Thompson says:

@Peter Turner: Actually, it does happen. Folks post onto meta.stackoverflow.com about the phenomenon, and the SO team chases up the offending sites. Sometimes they go away, sometimes they add attribution, and sometimes the do nothing. More on the topic can be found at MSO: http://bit.ly/djRzyo

Anyway, I’ve placed this latest dump onto an archive: http://bit.ly/98j9jn
