Desmond Bishop's impressive play this season has the Green Bay Packers considering a new contract for the linebacker.
  • Packers believe CB Shields is diamond in rough

    11/19/2010
Joe Whitt isn't afraid of making bold statements, and given the Packers cornerbacks coach's track record, perhaps people should take him at his word when he talks about undrafted rookie Sam Shields.
  • Packers have chance to bury rival Vikings with win

    11/18/2010
The Green Bay Packers will try to win their fourth straight game and sweep the season series from Brett Favre and the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday in Minneapolis.
  • Packers return from bye healthy

    11/16/2010
If it was up to coach Mike McCarthy to make the schedule, he would put the bye week after six or seven games. Waiting until after the ninth game this year -- the latest in the NFL, along with the Oakland Raiders, New Orleans Saints and San Diego Chargers -- was a bit longer than he'd have liked.
  • Former Lions, Packers, Browns RB Carpenter dies at 78

    11/15/2010
Lew Carpenter, a running back who played on three NFL title teams in a 10-year playing career, has died at 78.
  • Favre's focus on beating Packers

    11/17/2010
This week likely will be the last of Brett Favre's four grudge games against Green Bay since he shook up the sports world by signing with former rival Minnesota more than a year ago.

    11/14/2010

  • Capers works wonders with Packers' injury-riddled defense

    11/14/2010
The Packers defense's performance is a strong endorsement for coordinator Dom Capers, whose flexibility and creativity has gone a long way toward keeping the injury-riddled Green Bay in contention and atop the NFC North.

    11/12/2010
The Green Bay Packers announced Friday they have placed right tackle Mark Tauscher on injured reserve and re-signed tight end-linebacker Spencer Havner, whom they released during the final cutdown in September.
