Also tonight, Vivian Schiller, President & CEO of National Public Radio (NPR), reflects on how new media has affected journalistic integrity and gives advice on how best to navigate this new era of technology.

This holiday weekend, BookTV continues to feature noteworthy authors, today bringing events with James Zogby, “Arab Voices” and E. Stanly Godbold, “Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter.”

Zogby is this week’s guest on After Words and talks about his book latest book, “Arab Voices: What They Are Saying to Us and Why it Matters.” Mr. Zogby uses comprehensive polling date from eight Arab countries to draw out the thoughts and feelings of Muslims regarding stereotypes of their culture and religion, the 9-11 attacks, the War on Terror and the Iraq War.

Later, E. Stanly Godbold, professor emeritus of history at Mississippi State University, presents his dual biography “Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter: The Georgia Years, 1924-1974.” In the first of two volumes, Mr. Godbold recounts the Carter's childhoods and upbringings in Plains, Georgia, their courtship and marriage, and their ascendancy to the national political stage.

Every weekend, C‑SPAN3 becomes American History TV, programming to showcase the people and events that help document the American story. Today, AHTV premieres a never-before-televised oral history interview with former Vice President Dick Cheney. In a project recorded for the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum, Mr. Cheney recalls his time in the Nixon White House, where he first served under Donald Rumsfeld and then later as assistant director of the Cost of Living Council.

Later today, Lincoln Scholar Bruce Levine describes the Civil War as the second American Revolution and Abraham Lincoln as a Revolutionary Leader, in this talk with students at Western Illinois University. Following next is a class lecture with American University Professor Alan Kraut on the economic progress made by the South during the 1920s.

British House of Commons Prime Minister's Questions Prime Minister David Cameron joined Labour Leader Ed Miliband in mourning the deaths of 29 New Zealand miners killed in an explosion last week. Mr. Cameron also responded to questions on the financial crisis in Ireland, reduction of government funding for school sports programs, and immigration issues, including students who immigrate to the country under false pretenses.
