Miami FC Inks Two More Players
Miami FC continues to add to its roster by announcing the addition of Brian Shriver and Martyn Lancaster to the 2010 roster. Terms of the signings were not disclosed.
"We believe that we now have a deep roster that will be able to compete week in and week out," Director of Soccer Fernando Clavijo said. "We think we have a team that will go very far this season and these last signings solidify that."
Shriver, an American forward/midfielder, joined Miami FC in August 2009 and returns looking to make a bigger impact this upcoming season. Prior to his time with the Blues, Shriver played with the Cary RailHawks U-23 team and for the Carolina Dynamo. Shriver was also a member of the University of North Carolina soccer team.
Miami also added on defense with Lancaster, a defender who hails from England. Lancaster moved to U.S. in 2006 when he joined the Wilmington Hammerheads before joining the Atlanta Silverbacks in 2007, where he played alongside current Miami FC defender Zach Kirby. Lancaster provides more experience to an already strong defensive unit. Lancaster has played professionally in England, Scotland and Sweden in addition to the United States.
Miami FC hosts the Rochester Rhinos in the season opener at Lockhart Stadium on April 10. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
