Amro Hassan joined the Los Angeles Times' Cairo bureau in 2009 after four years of reporting social, economic, political and sports news for a number of English-language publications in both Cairo and London. He received a Bachelor's degree in mass communication from Ain Shams University in Cairo in 2005 and a Master's degree in journalism from Roehampton University in London in 2007.
